Real-time coordination

We manage the stack.
You manage your library.

Sonarr for TV. Radarr for films. Prowlarr for indexers. nzbget or SABnzbd for Usenet. qBittorrent for torrents. Five services, five ports, five browser tabs, five update cycles, five things that can break at once.

You built something that works. But "works" means keeping five different apps running, configured, updated, and talking to each other. Every one of them is a separate deployment, a separate database, a separate set of API keys.

Nabbed makes it one thing. A managed control plane handles metadata, scheduling, and coordination. A single open-source agent runs on your hardware and does the actual work.

What the control plane handles

The brains live in the cloud. Your agent executes locally.

Auto-upgrade will replace lower quality with preferred when available

Manage from anywhere

Your library is accessible from any browser. Add a movie from your phone during lunch. Check download progress from your laptop. The control plane keeps everything in sync.

No VPN tunnels, no port forwarding, no dynamic DNS. The agent maintains a persistent outbound connection. You never open a port.

Three steps to get started

1

Run the container

One docker run command. Two volume mounts. That's the entire install.

2

Approve in your browser

The agent prints a short code. Open the URL, log in, confirm.

3

It handles the rest

Search, grab, download, verify, extract, rename, import. All automatic.

Everything you need.
Nothing you don't.

Acquisition engine

TV and films. Quality profiles with minimum, preferred, and cutoff. Automatic upgrades. RSS sync, backfill search, daily missing episode search.

Built-in download clients

Usenet: multi-server, par2, extraction. Torrents: DHT, PEX, ratio rules, bandwidth scheduling. No external clients needed.

Indexer management

Newznab and Torznab. Parallel search, health monitoring, auto-disable on failure. Pro: configure once, sync to all agents.

Post-processing pipeline

Verify, extract, rename, move, trigger Plex/Jellyfin scan. Nothing written to your library unless every step completes. Atomic.

Migrate from Sonarr + Radarr

Point it at your existing setup. Dry run, review, confirm. Library, history, quality profiles imported. Nothing re-downloaded. Keep your existing media organization.

Offline resilience

Active downloads are never interrupted when the control plane is unreachable. Events queue locally and flush on reconnect. The agent works independently.

Nexus

P2P media sharing with trusted friends and households. Share libraries, not passwords.

availability

Check your friends first, then hit indexers. Why search for something that already exists on a peer's machine?

Household sharing

  • Up to 5 members per household
  • Everyone gets their own account
  • Shared library management
  • Agents belong to the household
  • Infrastructure shared cleanly

Peer sharing

  • Connect with friends
  • Browse their library
  • Pull content agent-to-agent
  • No indexer needed for shared content
  • Control plane brokers, then steps out

Your files never leave your machine

The agent is open source. What runs on your hardware is auditable by anyone.

Open source agent

MIT licensed. Full source code on GitHub. Build from source if you want.

Metadata only

The control plane sees job requests, completion events, and library indexes. Never file contents.

EU data residency

Your account data stored in EU regions. GDPR compliant. Delete your data at any time.

What the control plane sees vs. doesn't see

Sees

  • Job requests and completion events
  • Library indexes (titles, metadata)
  • User preferences and profiles
  • Agent connection status

Never sees

  • Search queries or indexer results
  • NZBs, torrent files, or magnet links
  • Download traffic or file contents
  • Peer transfer data

Why upgrade to Pro?

Free gives you a fully-functional media manager. Pro unlocks multi-agent orchestration, household sharing, peer networks, managed notifications, and indexer sync across all your machines. If you run more than one machine or share with others, Pro pays for itself.

Built in the open

The agent is MIT licensed. Community contributions welcome.

The Tailscale model

Open source client, closed SaaS coordination layer. The agent is auditable because it runs on your hardware. The control plane is SaaS-only, handling orchestration, identity, household management, and social features.

What touches your files is open. What coordinates your devices is managed.

Self-hosted control plane

Want to run your own control plane? Set NABBED_CONTROL_PLANE to your own instance. The agent is designed to work with any compatible control plane implementation.

Community control plane implementations actively encouraged

MIT licensed. No telemetry without opt-in. Every byte the agent sends to the control plane is visible in the source code.

Use it, modify it, distribute it. No restrictions.

No telemetry

The agent collects nothing by default. Opt-in only.

Community first

Built by self-hosters, for self-hosters. Contributions welcome.
